For a few years now, almost all of the marketing people we know — and, trust us, we know a lot of marketing people — were consistently telling us to check out one brand: Snow Peak. We knew that the brand’s accessories were cool and we had started carrying them at OTH William Gray not too long after we opened the shop.
When we finally got the chance to see the apparel in person — not through a PDF on a computer screen — we were completely blown away. Snow Peak is still a family business, and the founder’s granddaughter, Lisa Yamai, was the one tasked with designing the apparel when the company launched the line in 2014. What impressed us the most was how consistent the vision was across both menswear and womenswear. It’s hard for men to make good womenswear and it’s hard for women to make good menswear — which is why it’s all the more impressive when they do!
But back to the product. We’ve touched a lot of clothing over the years, but we were genuinely impressed with the quality of the goods that we saw from Snow Peak. They were technical, yes, but they were also, well, fun and interesting. And that’s something that’s overlooked all too often. They make you curious and we definitely wanted to know more about each and every piece.
Needless to say, once we saw — and touched — the product we knew that we needed to have it at OTH-421 alongside the brand’s accessories.
