OTH X MCLAREN CANADA
McLaren is synonymous with automotive excellence. It has manufactured some of the most powerful and impressive machines that have ever taken the track and it continues to push the envelope forward in 2018.

The company was founded in England in 1975 and has made its name as a purveyor of fine automobiles and McLaren is the only manufacturer to win the Indy 500, the Le Mans, and in Formula One. With under 4000 McLarens produced every year, they are cars for collectors and connoisseurs. It also means that not everybody can get their hands on a McLaren — but that’s where Off The Hook comes in.

We’re excited to announce that we have teamed up with McLaren Canada to celebrate not only the manufacturer’s illustrious history, but also Montreal’s passion for motorsports, to mark the opening of McLaren’s latest dealership, right here in Montreal. The city is at the centre of Canada’s auto racing community, with the Grand Prix of Canada taking place at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve on a yearly basis and a nearby track in Mont-Tremblant acting as a proving ground for young talent in Eastern Canada.

The capsule collection features 11-pieces with graphics commemorating important moments and machines from McLaren’s history — there are nods to the manufacturer’s win at Le Mans, the iconic P1 GTR, the 720S, the 570S, and its success at the Indy 500 and in Formula One. The collection is a sort of wearable catalogue of the moments and cars that have shaped McLaren’s history and sparked the imagination of motorsports fans around the world and in Montreal.

We’ve also charted a “Road To The Grand Prix of Canada” with McLaren, outlining the route that the McLaren Club of Canada took for a rally of the same name from Toronto to Montreal, while passing through Ottawa and Toronto; that roadmap appears as a graphic on two long sleeves.

Other pieces in the collaborative capsule include ring spun T-shirts, heavyweight pullover hoodies, and wind-resistant jackets. The graphics, designed by creative director —and noted car enthusiast— Jean-François Dumais, have been created using a range of premium methods and inks, ranging from metallic and reflective prints to die-cut felt.

The collection will be available internationally as of June 23rd, through our online store and at our Old Montreal location (421 Saint-Vincent), in limited quantities.
