NEW BALANCE X MITA "TOKYO RAT" 247
It's safe to say that the new year has been a good one for sneaker collaborations, and the upcoming New Balance x Mita project is no exception. Following up their successful launch of the new 247 model in the luxe pack, the American-made footwear brand teams up this time with Tokyo retailer Mita for a conceptual take on the 247 based on the city rats that stay woke through the seamlessly never-ending days and nights.
The "Tokyo Rat" 247 features an all grey upper made from an open-knit mesh that's found on the toe box and a tighter patterned mesh backed with foam found on the rest of the upper. Suede panels cover the lateral and medial sides under the neatly stitched New Balance 3M reflective "N" logo. Orange accents contrast the sneaker's dominant grey with an all orange inner liner and outsole. From the all-grey upper to the shaggy suede overlaying panels, the New Balance x Mita "Tokyo Rat" defines what a concept sneaker should be. Last but not least, the sneaker tops it off with custom prints on the insoles courtesy of the photographer Keita Suzuki.
The New Balance x Mita "Tokyo Rat" 247 drops on Saturday, February 10th for $160 + taxes. Pass by our downtown location to pick up a pair as soon as 11am or hit the webstore to check out a pair online.
